One of my biggest faults is my indecisiveness (okay, shush to those of you who know me in person, I don't need any more suggestions!). I've spent the entire month trying to decide on my 'Best of 2008' list and just stressed myself out about it far more than necessary. SO! instead I've decided to share with you my top ten favourites from the year. I'll try a 'Best of' list again next year.
I hope you'll find something you'll enjoy!

Twilight is definitely on my list, and I've been thinking about checking out a couple of the other ones, so I'll add them to my list!
This is about the third time I have seen "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" recommended in just as many days, so I think I need to put that on my TBR list for 2009. I plan to start to "Book Thief" tomorrow and am very much looking forward to it.
Have a very Happy New Year!
I just so happened to start "The Book Thief" last night and wow. It is very engrossing so far! It's not like what I expected it to be and making me wonder why I left it on my TBR pile for so long!
Katie: Hope you enjoy it!
Molly: Striped Pyjamas was one of those books that sat on my tbr pile ever since it came out, so I was pretty happy when having it on a school reading list bumped it up. I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a pretty easy read, but an amazing one.
Valerie: Keep going, it's wonderful!
Great list. I absolutely loved both Cloudstreet and The Book Thief. I'm so glad you did too. Tim Winton's other books are very good too if you haven't tried them yet. I can recommend Dirt Music, The Riders, and Breath, his latest. Happy reading in 2009.
Sandra: I didn't think I'd like Cloudstreet as I'm not really a fan of Australian literature (not terribly patriotic of me, I know), but I absolutely loved it. I've got Dirt Music on my bookshelf to read this year :)
It is hard coming up with the top ten list, I agree! So many choices!
I am really looking forward to reading John Boyne's book and The Book Thief--maybe even this year!
I am glad you enjoyed Storm Front. The Dresden Files is one of my favorite series books.
How is a favourites list and a best of list different?
You have some good books on your list.
Callista: I have no idea, but it made it easier for me. I suppose it was because with my "best of" list, I was planning to go into different genres etc
Loved Twilight myself and the book thief is one of my favourites as well ... I plan to read some of Geraldine brooks books this year ... Enjoying your site :)
