Wow, you are amazing. I had to check my calendar to make sure it was still Monday. Great teaser. I am easily startled, so I would certainly not appreciate a roommate who enjoyed hiding behind the curtains. My interest is piqued.

We're a day ahead -- how fun.

This is from Shooting an Albatross by Steven Lundin and set in 1943 in Hollywood, while the US Army "occupied" a golf course there.

P. 213 -- "After taking the miserable walk home that
morning, she went straight to the desk upstairs in her room
and wrote from her heart to his."

" While he performed his duties to ready the battalion for his departure, he did so with withdrawn attention, a distracted demeanor and an unsettled heart."

Fun read, and there's suspense, romance, and even golf.
